Look at the
2009 photo gallery. In 2008, 153 walkers
and several 4
legged friends showed up on the wonderfully sunny day to
support the cause.
The goal of the event is to help the ASC continue to provide
services to the
thousands of people in the area affected by Alzheimer’s
disease and related
dementias. All funds raised by this event stay in the
community to support
the ASC’s ongoing programs and services.
Carolyn Hamilton
raised the most money in sponsorship with $6057.00. That
is the most money that a single person has raised since the
Walk to Remember
event began. Top team went to Team Haskins Heroes who raised
$4,524.00.
Haskins Heroes also won an award for having the most number
of team members.
Their team had 24 walkers! The total money raised after
expenses is 29,000!
The Pets on Parade added a festive atmosphere as well with
dogs winning
prices in four categories of contests. The Humane Society
was also present
with adoptable dogs and information, as well as cholesterol
and blood pressure
screenings by Mercy Health.
We would like to thank the many volunteers, walkers and
sponsors that
helped to make this event a success! Without them, our
events can not
happen.
